Chief's Board

    The Chief along with the assistants, Captain and Lieutenant provide for the operational leadership of the organization.

Chief of operations: Ed Rummel

      Edward Rummel has been a member of the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. for the past 19 years. Ed started with the organization as a New York State Certified Emergency Technician. He became an Advanced Medical Technician in 1991. Over the years , Ed has consistently been one of MVAC's top responders. Ed served as Vice President in 1992, 3rd Assistant Chief in 1993, 2nd Assistant Chief in 1994, 1st assistant Chief in 1995 and Chief of the department from 1996 to 1998. since then he has held the rank of Chief 7 times. In addition to serving as a New York City Police Officer. Ed has also served as a member of the Albertson Fire Department as a volunteer fireman. Ed displays the hard work and dedication that makes our Volunteer Ambulance Corp unique.         

1st Assistant chief: Mark Hoag

     Mark Hoag has been a member of the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. for the past four years. Mark started with the organization as a New York State EMT-B. He served as Sergeant at Arms in 2005, Captain in  2006, 2nd Assistant Chief in 2007 and is currently holds the rank of  1st Assistant Chief. Mark is also a Volunteer Fireman with the Williston Park Fire Department. Mark has over 9 years experience in the EMS field.

2nd Assistant chief: Matt Sanfilippo

   Matthew Sanfilippo has been a member of the Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corps Inc. for the past four years. Matt started with the organization as a New York State EMT-Paramedic. He served as Captain for the 2007 and is currently the 2nd Assistant Chief. Matt is also a career Paramedic with the Fire Department of New York, where he has been for over 12 years. He is also a New York State Department of Health Certified Lab Instructor. Matt brings a world of field experience to the corps and is instrumental with our department training.     

 

Captain: Joel Orr

   Joel Orr has been with the organization since October of 2004. He started as an EMT-B, in 2006 became an EMT-Critical Care. Joel has  served as Lieutenant in 2006 & 2007 and is currently Captain.  Joel is also a career EMT with the Fire Department of New York for the past 2 years. Joel plays an integral part in maintaining MVAC’s fleet as Chairman of the Vehicle Maintenance and Driver Training Committees.
